Hejabi in the Heartland

I've created a new blog, Hejabi in the Heartland.

All of my (previous) and future posts regarding Cincinnati are/will be there.

I'll keep my personal posts and posts on other issues here on Rockin' Hejabi.

Peace!

As salaam alaikum.

I spent a small amount of time in the 'heart'land (NE, Miss.) I've gotta say I was a little put off by the vibe I got off most the people. It seemed they like Muslims as long as you didn't look like a Muslim or act like a Muslim (maybe I am just to sensitive to these things).

Wa salaama,

Wa alleikum asalaam, Nuh. Marhaba and welcome to my blog!

I love your sarcasm!

Yes, it's true...a lot of folks here are just fine around me when I don't have my headscarf on, but put it on and it's like a bee in their bonnet.

Then again, since I put my hijab back on a couple of weeks ago (alhumdulillah), I feel so much more at peace with myself.

The things of this world will pass, but what Allah wants will be for eternity.

As we Allevis say,
Eyvallah!
