He didn't ride a donkey, he rode an Apotosaurus!

WTF?
Couresy of Conservapedia, which is the brainless alternative to Wikipedia.
I'm sorry, but you've got to have the IQ of a ROCK to believe that this Creationsit stuff is actually credible.
I am soo so scared of this movement, which apparenlty has it's epicenter right here in Northern Kentucky! What do you think, dear readers? Hey, don't let my bias be your bias! It's obvious how I feel...
Should we abandon all reason and embrace a literal view regarding the scriptures? Is the bible a spiritual guide which can lead you to a deep and meaningful personal relationship with God, through parables, analogies, poetry, etc. or is the bible merely a work of history? Tell me what you think!

There's certainly room for disagreement, but why would you be "so afraid" of creationists? Do you find creationists bombing non-creationists, for example?

She has a point. In general people who believe in young-Earth Biblical creationism also believe in a future apocalypse as described by the book at the other end of the Bible--and Chick publications and those Left Behind novels.

This is the same brand of Christianity whose militant streak comes to the fore outside abortion clinics and in ignorant violence against those of other faiths. Yes, the yahoos waving flags and assaulting hijabis and vandalizing mosques after 9/11. Those people.

Any rational person regardless of religion is afraid of them. Rational people have been afraid of them for some time now.

Watch that "Jesus Kids" documentary some time. Anyone afraid of the theocratic inclinations of Muslim countries really needs to check out the mote in America's eye.

Hey man, most of my family are those people. I know them very, very well. They are no different in many ways from the criminals who twist and extrapolate parts of Islam, out of context, to justify terrorism ( I refuse to call those people muslims, but I suppose the rest of the world does).

Fundamentalist Christians/young Earth Creationism and "islamic" criminals are the same; they both go through the same (lack of ) thought processes. They cannot think in a critical manner, they are literalist to the point of psychosis.

People who reject empirically validated evidence and basic reason(ie. they reject mainstream science, or basic human moral laws for instance in the case of the "islamic" criminals who twist Islam into justifying satanic things like killing innocent people) and only accept things that fit into their charismatic, hyped up hysteria in religion are so incredibly malleable they can easily be controlled by evil people. I fear America is becoming a Fascist country, and this movement seems to be part of the epicenter of the deviant thinking (or lack thereof) that is swaying us towards it.

Oh and Deb, I believe the name of that film is "Jesus Camp". Thanks for mentioning it. I haven't seen it yet but intend to.

Peace Mission-
I am also scared of them because they are hateful, and come to some pretty illogical and bizarre conclusions regarding who and what they think is/are responsible for the social ills in our society.

Look over the link I posted for Answers in Genesis. Their website says they think the Colombine massacre was due to the teaching of evolution in America's public schools!?!

Grrr. They've changed the website...It DID talk about their views regarding the "homosexual museum curators" and their deviant views in mainstream evolutionary natural history museums....he's taken that stuff off the website.

Don't be fooled, they are very hateful.

Wonder what the Islam explanation of creation is? There are motes and there are bombs. Not the same thing.

Peace mission, I ask you to please expand your question...and be careful please, I don't care for hate speech on my blog.

You might want to check out Friends of God: A Road Trip with Alexandra Pelosi. The creationism segment is eye-opening. The brainwashing makes me so upset.

Sounds good, Amanda.

...and Welcome to Rockin' Hejabi!

Yeah, brainwashing of any sort is not good. I always think of Jim Jones when brainwashing is involved. It just can't lead to anything good.

Had fun talking with a young earth creationist once, lets just say his view of even basic everyday science was such that I honestly expected him to be a member of the Flat Earth Society and think illnesses come from demons. Worse yet his racial views and revenge mindset went against everything I learned in Sunday school since I was a kid. I've always been out of the mainstream when it comes to my faith in God and science but since I've learned about the Human Genome Project lead scientist, Francis Collins, and his ability to be both a renown scientist who believes in evolution and a Christian I don't feel so odd anymore.

Welcome back Beach Bum, haven't heard from you in a while:)

I'm elated to hear that the head scientist in the human genome project is also a Christian, who also believes in Evolution.

From my summation of Christianity, there is absolutely nothing contradictory between the Faith and Evolution. I've *always been flabberghasted, even as a young child (6th grade confirmation in the Methodist church), by the "Christians" out there who claim that evolution and Christianity are contradictory. It just boggles my mind. But then again, I don't think Islam is contradictory with any of the other world religions either...all roads lead to the same path...in general I'm just a stranger in a strange land:)
